GoalsGetter broadens its curated multi-manager offering with Smart

Written by Amova NZ | 05 Oct 2026

Amova Asset Management has announced Smartshares Limited (Smart) as the newest fund manager to join the GoalsGetter KiwiSaver Scheme, broadening the scheme's curated multi-manager offering and giving financial advisers and their clients access to index-tracking investment options alongside established actively managed solutions. The selection of Smart followed a review of governance, capital stability, investment process, track record, operational capability, adviser demand, and the value delivered to investors.

Two new funds are available to advisers and their clients from 6 October: the GoalsGetter Smart Balanced Fund and the GoalsGetter Smart High Growth Fund.

Smart is the latest fund manager to be added since Amova relaunched the GoalsGetter KiwiSaver Scheme as a multi-manager offering in May 2024. Smart is wholly owned by NZX Limited and has been helping New Zealanders invest since 1996, when it launched New Zealand’s first exchange traded fund (ETF). Smart is the country’s largest listed ETF issuer.

Smart joins Amova, Generate, Milford, Pathfinder and Salt on the platform, expanding GoalsGetter's curated multi-manager offering. The addition follows adviser feedback for greater portfolio flexibility, giving advisers access to both active and index-tracking investment approaches within a single KiwiSaver scheme.

Sam Bryden, Head of Distribution at Amova Asset Management, said: "The addition of Smart to the GoalsGetter KiwiSaver Scheme reflects the growing trend of advisers blending investment styles across managers rather than relying on a single provider. Smart gives advisers and their clients greater choice to build portfolios that align with their clients’ goals, time horizons and risk preferences."

Stuart Millar, Chief Investment Officer at Smart, said the firm was excited to join one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing and most adviser-focused KiwiSaver schemes.

"GoalsGetter has built a compelling multi-manager KiwiSaver proposition that puts advisers and their clients at the centre. We are excited to be joining a growing and future-focused scheme alongside some of the country’s leading investment managers."

More than 250 advisers are accredited on the GoalsGetter platform and more than 100 financial advice providers (FAPs) have signed up. As the scheme continues to grow, adviser feedback remains central to its evolution, including the development of a new adviser portal designed to further enhance the adviser experience.

Full details of both funds, including fees, are set out in the product disclosure statement and fund updates are available here.
